What’s new?

For All EMRs:

A new domain called “Social Determinants of Health” which includes the new measure “Poverty Prevalence”.  This measure is now available for MOIS users and in future releases will be made available to everyone. Other measures will be added to this domain over time.

For MOIS users:

1. MOIS users will see the first measure of the new domain “Social Determinants of Health” in this release, “Poverty Prevalence.” HDC Discover will show three years of historical data
for this measure.

2. We have replaced three measures with new measures in order to use more common and standard terms:

Retired measure Replacement measure
Drug Dependence Syndrome Prevalence Substance use disorder prevalence
Unsafe drug use and visit in last yr age 12-19 Substance use disorder and visit in the past year age 12-19
Unsafe drug use and visit in last yr age >19 Substance use disorder and visit in the past year age >19

We have backloaded the data for these three measures with the new definition.

3. We have extended the screening mammography age from 50-70 to 50-74 years to reflect the changes in the provincial and national breast cancer screening guidelines. The updated definition will be applied to up to three years of historical data.
