Concept Updates
To improve the accuracy of our measures, we made changes to the following concepts:
Improvements to Metadata
| Changes | Example |
| Changed all instances of the term “visit” to “encounter” | “Patients with “active” status who have a visit in the past 3 years” changed to: “Patients with “active” status who have an encounter in the past 3 years” |
| Addition of our “encounter” definition into the “Concepts and Logic” tab for any measure that references encounters. | “Encounter” refers to the following definitions for each supported EMR: – MOIS: An encounter that is signed off and has a status other than N (No Show), C (Cancel), or R (Rebook). – OSCAR: An encounter with a signed encounter note. – Med Access: A visit that has been signed. – Profile: An encounter with status Complete or Resolved. |
| Updated any reference of “hemoccult test” to “FIT and other fecal occult blood tests” | “The percentage of active patients, 50 to 74 years old, who have had a hemoccult test recorded in the EMR in the past 2 years.” changed to: “The percentage of active patients, 50 to 74 years old, who have had a Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) or other fecal occult blood test recorded in the EMR in the past 2 years.” |
