Privacy and Security

At the Health Data Coalition (HDC), our top priority is preserving the trust of the physicians who choose to share data in the HDC network.

We are committed to ensuring that all aspects of our organization operate with honesty and integrity, are in accordance with the highest ethical standards, and are meeting or exceeding legal requirements.

We value privacy and confidentiality, transparency and mutual respect for those with whom we interact.

HDC Discover provides access to a secure, core set of aggregate data, which preserves confidentiality. We have robust processes in place, conduct ongoing privacy and security audits and hold various security and privacy certifications, meaning physicians can have peace of mind about the integrity of their patient data.

User Centric

In addition, HDC’s data sharing platform application was recently certified by the globally recognized Privacy By Design framework.

Privacy by Design is an internationally recognized privacy standard that has been endorsed globally by Data Protection Authorities and Privacy Commissioners.  It refers to building privacy into the design, operation and management of IT systems, networks and business processes and is structured around 7 Foundational Principles that exist as the baseline for robust data protection. HDC adheres to these principles.
